KL trip 2009

hello there everyone..
i haven't been blogging for weeks..
and that is because nothing really happened.. and i was kinda bored..
until i waited for the day to come, for the KL trip with my bf, xinhui and Seet Hoong..
i have to wait for them to end their final exams then only we can go together-gether..
haha...
the trip starts from 9.10.2009 until 11.10.2009.

9.10.2009

on 9th Oct, we bought the 10.30am bus ticket to KL by KKKL bus..
me and my bf took the 8am bus Tuah from Bukit Beruang to Melaka Sentral, and we reached there around 9am.. lol.. its too early but he said its good to be early than late...
we reached KL Pudu Raya around 12.30pm and Seet Hoong and Jiawen came to pick us..
honestly, the Bus Terminal in Melaka is much more better than KL's.. the toilet there in KL is damn small and to get yourself in the toilet needs around 5-8 minutes.
and their platform is damn dark where sometimes the bus is not in the correct platform.
im glad and proud that Melaka has such a nice Bus Terminal and looks much more better than KL and JB. =D

after they pick us.. seet hoong drove us to Tune Hotel.. its nearby the Medan Tuanku Monorail Station... the reason why we chose Tune Hotel is because its cheap and affordable.. for 2 nights it costs us around rm202 with 12 hours credit of air-con, queen sized bed, but without toiletries and towels. i think is kinda worth it because its really convenient for us to travel to town..
but one thing is that the equipments in the room were kinda lousy.. for example.. the lamp near the bed-head would easily fall off even if you touch it gently.. haha.. but who cares.. as long as its comfortable and clean.. i'm okay with it.. moreover, it has Subway at its Lobby.. and i was delighted with it.. because i heard that Subway is yummy and not available in Melaka too..

the queen size bed.
wallpaper.. looks like the one in the Facebook game, Home Inn.. haha

on the first day of our trip, we planned to go Sunway Pyramid.. since the check in time for Tune Hotel is 2pm, and we assume that there will be not enough time to shop in Mid Valley. So Mid Valley will be reserved on the second day.. Damn.. KL is really famous of its traffic jam. all of us are so hungry along the journey to Sunway Pyramid. Actually we thought of having lunch together but end up having lunch+teatime.. lol.. because when we reached Sunway its already around 4pm.
Jia Wen recommend us to have our meal at Ole-Ole Bali. its a restaurant serving Indonesian cuisine. their deco in the shop is nice and has soft lighting, with some statue that symbolizes Indonesian culture. the food there are kinda expensive but its really worth it.

overall tables and seats in the restaurant..

talking about the food in this restaurant, i would rate them 4.8/5 stars. it really suits my taste because i love spicy and sour food. most of their food comes with squids and those squids are really fresh and spongy. and the best drink that i have ever had on that day is their famous Barley Lime.
strong taste of Pandan and slight taste of lemon grass in it.. superb.. everyone craving more for it.. its perfect to quench thirst!

this is their Satay.. taste very different like our local Satay.. its texture is like our Otak-Otak.. and its skewed with lemon grass. that is why its smell is so fragrance..

this is what me and dear shared.. its around RM35 for this portion, but its a large portion so its just nice for 2 person. this is called the Ole-Ole Trio which includes 3 whole chicken wings, fried squids, satay and their acar. superb!

dear ordered this.. squid salad.. taste super good.. the sauce is spicy and sour.. this is the thing that you MUST order when u go Ole-Ole Bali!! highly recommended by me.. haha

this is ordered by Jiawen. Squid Spaghetti. I'm not sure about its taste but i think its similar like their squid salad.

this is the Indonesian version of Nasi Lemak i guess.. it has squid, rice, Otak-Otak and Keropok. the portion is so big as u can see it by yourself in the picture above, with the proportional of Seet Hoong's face and the "Nasi Lemak".

its very worthy to give it a try and i recommend everyone of you to consider Ole-Ole Bali when you visit Sunway Pyramid. It is located near the main door of Sunway Pyramid mall. I will certainly pay Ole-Ole Bali a visit in my next KL trip..

after makan, its already around 5.30pm and we went window shopping in Sunway..
i think i really have a different view towards Sunway Pyramid because it is actually another Mid Valley also.. i used to think that Sunway Pyramid is kinda bored and there are not much places to shop as it does not suit my taste. but I'm wrong because some shops in Sunway are not available in MidValley; and some shops in MidValley is also available in Sunway.

Sunway Pyramid's decoration for Deepavali celebration..

me and dear

throughout the shopping journey in Sunway, my bf bought me a Charles and Keith bag for my birthday present. love it so much.

and i also bought a top from Forever 21 and my bf bought a shirt from TopMan.
we're rushing here and there because I get to know that Seet Hoong has to be back home by 10pm!!

and we had our dinner around 9pm at Bubba Gump
which was highly recommended by Seet Hoong. Actually Seet Hoong and Xinhui did not went much shopping. they hung out at Bubba Gum since 8pm i guess.. and until me and my bf went there for dinner..
they recommend us the baked seafood rice for rm28 and it really taste awesome! oh my.. the taste of the cheese would just roll all over in your mouth and it is super duper yummy!

and their Iced Lemon Tea over there can be refilled, so both of us ordered 1 iced lemon tea and one seafood cheese rice. the portion is also quite large as two person can share it.

the overall view of the restaurant.

this restaurant is actually designed from a movie called "The Forest Gump". People working there are hyperactive and helpful too. Tables are designed like those old style English restaurant. One thing that is very special is the way of calling the waiter

with both of these plate. when you flip to Stop Forrest Stop, then the waiter will come to you, and when they leave, you must flip it back to Run Forrest Run. lol.. kinda fun rite?
our meal ended at 9.30 at Bubba Gump and we rushed back and there's traffic jam here and there.. Seet Hoong stopped me and bf at KL sentral monorail station and we took monorail back to Medan Tuanku. its our first time taking monorail in KL independently.. muahaha..

10.10.2009

second day of the KL trip is to go Mid Valley for shopping and most important, to have breakfast at Dragon-i, which is famous of their "siew long bao". Seet Hoong told us that the shop will be opened at 9.30am, so we left our hotel at 8am. LOL.. stupid us that we thought monorail from Medan Tuanku to KL Sentral takes us a long time, but actually is around 10 minutes only. Since we over-estimated the time, we planned to get ourselves to Mid Valley City by our own.
So, after we reach KL Sentral we took KTM to Mid Valley and the time is just nice where we get to meet Seet Hoong and Xinhui after arriving by KTM.

then we headed to Dragon-i at Cititel and we got to know that they are open only at 11am. Gosh.. we're all hungry already but still have to hang on for a while and walk around the shopping mall. On that Saturday, Playboy did promotion on their perfume at the centre court of Mid Valley..

and displayed a Porsche.. nice car rite? hahaha.. its says there 'no photos', but everyone there is capturing like mad! Lol.

around 11am, we went in to Dragon-i and ordered

siew long bao!! which i craved for it since months ago.. its a must to eat when i go to KL. the soup inside the dumpling is tasty and warm while the taste of the pork is spongy and wrap with a thin dumpling skin. arghh... slurrppp!!

this carrot cake also is one of a "must order" food in the menu. i highly recommend you to order this when you dine in at Dragon-i, Cititel. the carrot cake texture is really soft and it can melt in your mouth.. and the prawns is super crunchy and fresh while the bean sprouts are fresh and clean. yum yum..
this is my order and its the Seafood Ramen soup. Noodle is springy and seafood is really fresh!

this is Xinhui's order.. is called the Black pepper fried noodles. i had tried its taste and its very yummy too. the noodles are springy and it really smelled good!

Seet Hoong's order for Pork Chop fried rice. the fried rice taste like those normal 煮炒档 that we used to eat.. nothing really special for this dish..

this is what i wanted to try and eventually it taste differently of what i actually thought. i thought its the "芋角" that we used to have it in dimsum shop, but this yam balls actually tastes sweet but not saltish..

after brunch, me and my bf went shopping our own way while seet hoong and xinhui went their own way..
after long time, i bought only one top from Nichii in my entire shopping in Mid Valley.
then later on met up with Seet Hoong and Xinhui at The Gardens.

later on we went "yum cha" at Fong Lye Restaurant which is a Taiwan Restaurant according to Seet Hoong.

me..
seet hoong
xinhui.. thinking of what to order..
nice post..
3 beau flowers.. ^^
me and dear..
all of fit actually fit into this picture which was self captured by Seet Hoong.. haha.. good job bear!
we ordered this as our finger food which is the fried sweet potato.. its kinda spongy and taste a lil bit sweet.. warm and spongy.. nice!
seet hoong's and xinhui's order.. taiwan "chuak bing".
mine and dear's order.. red bean ice... "红豆冰".. actually the taste of the ice is same with the Taiwan "chuak bing".its nice especially the ice cream which is the black sesame ice cream..

we cam-whore all the time in the restaurant until the waiters laughed at us.. but who cares.. we're happy enough! hehe

we ended our Mid Valley shopping around 6pm..
me and my bf had made a reservation at Jogoya, a Japanese buffet at Star Hill Gallery for supper at 9.40pm.
we can't make out our mind whether to go back to the hotel and rest first or straight to Star Hill. At last we decided to go to Star Hill straightaway.. and linger around at Lot10, Star Hill Gallery and Pavillion.

fountain at the front door of Pavillion..
Coach at Pavillion..

LV @ Star Hill Gallery

it was kinda boring over there and we're tired waiting for time to pass. both of us are really really tired as our backs and feet are aching as well. so we sat at Star Hill Gallery. its my first time to Star Hill Gallery and i didn't know its existence before i went there..
that place is selling high end branded products such as LV, Davidoff, etc..
only those who are wealthy rich will shop there.. haha...

finally its supper time and we are the first to go in to Jogoya..
i thought supper would be lesser people but i'm wrong..
almost full house for supper too!
gosh..
there are many varieties of seafood there and most of the people are craving for their fresh oyster. but me and my bf don't dare to eat fresh oysters.. those people are really crazy for the oysters and it seems like they are 'snatching' it.. fuhh....
it was my first time there and both of us are a lil bit disappointed with our stomach and the food there..
front look of Jogoya

Jogoya might be our first and last visit because most of the food are not our taste.. sigh.. too bad..
we had our buffet until 11pm and rushed for the last train to our hotel..
luckily we are able to board the monorail and at last we reached the hotel..
i suffered from muscle aches on my legs and back ache too.. dear also had the same.. lol..

11.10.2009

the last day of our trip where we are able to go for brunch only. because we bought our bus ticket for 1.30pm..
seet hoong brought us to have Fish Head Bihun nearby her house.. and suprisingly, it taste real good!! i wonder if Melaka has this type of noodle.. according to seethoong, this shop is recognized in a magazine/newspaper. so it cant be denied that it really taste good.

there are 2 types
first is the fish ball type
and second is the real fish meat type..

i choose the first one because i know the fish has lots of bones.. haha.. taste delicious.. the noodle is spongy and soup is thick and tasty.. ahh.. i will visit this shop on my next visit for sure.. hehe..

after brunch, we still had lots of time so seet hoong brought us to the nearby park..
and all of us acted like as if we're still young.. hahaha

after that, considering that its still early, seet hoong brought us to Petaling Street and we bought some finger food to munch.. me and seet hoong shared a box of "Muachi", which is rm5 per box with assorted flavor of ribena, lychee, original and etc.. haha.. the TV programme "Ho Chak" has recommended it before.. its really nice and the texture is also very nice.. the stall name is called "Yi liu Yi Liu"- 一流一流.. we also bought some chestnut and dear bought 鸭脚包..

and that ended my post of my KL trip..
i really do enjoy very much in KL.. and still i think Malacca is the best although Malacca has not much entertainment as KL does, and Malacca also have not much varieties of food..
Malacca is rather more peaceful than KL... in KL we have to always be cautious of the surroundings and people in KL are very ganjiong.. hahaha.. its a busy city i know..

i love Malacca the most!

oh ya... and not to forget..
please give me comment on this hairstyle okay? i might perm it when my hair gets longer.. please tell me whether it looked good on me or not..

thanks people!! =D
